United States readies SpaceX Starfall orbital reentry test

SpaceX is preparing to launch its new Starfall spacecraft on an uncrewed demonstration mission from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida on Tuesday, June 23, 2026. The disk-shaped capsule, about 3.1 meters in diameter and 0.75 meters tall, will ride a Falcon 9 rocket from Space Launch Complex 40 during a one-hour window opening at 6:43 a.m. Eastern Time, with June 24 as a backup date. Designed to carry up to 1,000 kilograms of cargo back from orbit, Starfall will support emerging markets in orbital manufacturing and rapid cargo return, and will also test communications technologies during this initial flight.
