High-level peace talks between the United States and Iran in Bürgenstock, Switzerland, collapsed after U.S. President Donald Trump issued explicit military threats against Tehran, according to the described account. The breakdown reportedly came just days after both sides had signed an interim agreement aimed at ending their military conflict. Trump used his social media platform, Truth Social, and a Fox News interview to demand that Iran halt activities by proxy forces in Lebanon, specifically Hezbollah, and warned of severe U.S. strikes if they did not comply. He also threatened consequences if Iran tried to close the Strait of Hormuz, a key global shipping lane.
