CALIMESA, California – The Shore Fire has burned about 3,085 acres in Riverside County’s Badlands area, triggering mandatory evacuations, freeway closures and a large multi-agency firefighting response. The wildfire was reported around 3:20 p.m. on Monday, June 15, 2026, near the 31000 block of San Timoteo Canyon Road in unincorporated El Casco, southwest of Calimesa. Driven by gusty winds and dry vegetation, it grew to nearly 100 acres within 30 minutes and advanced toward Interstate 10 and State Route 60. By Wednesday evening, June 17, 2026, crews had achieved 54% containment as evacuation shelters and animal facilities continued to support displaced residents.
