SALT LAKE CITY — Hot, dry weather and gusty winds raised elevated fire danger across Utah this week, with forecasts issued Monday and Tuesday showing a pronounced high-pressure ridge producing daytime highs into the mid-100s in southern counties. ABC4 forecasters reported Fire Weather Watches and Red Flag Warnings beginning Tuesday for central, southern, and eastern Utah. State and local officials and emergency responders advised residents to follow fire restrictions, prepare evacuation plans, and avoid activities that could ignite fires; warnings remained in effect through midweek with gusts exceeding 30–45 mph and humidity values as low as 5–12 percent. St. George and Washington County were identified as likely to experience the highest temperatures and greatest fire risk Tuesday through Thursday.
