Sandpoint, Idaho. The Sandpoint City Council voted in March to purchase and install 43 paid parking kiosks for downtown lots and City Beach, and officials said kiosks will activate on July 1, replacing chalked tires and charging about $1–$3 per hour. Cleveland and Orlando likewise adjusted parking schedules and fees this spring in separate council actions. Orlando commissioners approved higher on-street and event fees on May 11 and debated extending paid parking hours to 8 p.m.; a public hearing and final vote were scheduled for the following Monday. Cleveland implemented higher downtown meter rates earlier this year, and public petitions and mixed visitor reactions have followed while officials cite revenue and turnover goals.
