Washington — President Donald Trump on Monday rejected Tehran's latest counteroffer and warned the ceasefire between the United States and Iran was on 'massive life support,' describing Iran's response as 'garbage' and accusing Tehran of undermining diplomatic progress after a truce that began on April 7. Tehran this week reiterated demands including lifting the blockade on the Strait of Hormuz and sought compensation, while parliamentary speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf posted that Iranian forces were ready to respond to aggression; the stalemate pushed Brent crude above US$107 a barrel on Tuesday and prompted suspension and reassessment of Project Freedom escort operations.
