The roster moves followed a 13-3 loss to the Pittsburgh Pirates on Saturday in which Walker allowed two runs while retiring two batters; over his past four outings he yielded seven runs, nine hits and four walks. Manager remarks reported that the team hopes a minor-league stint will help Walker regain confidence; Santos was optioned and Hentges' return provides additional left-handed bullpen depth for upcoming games.
