Eight children — seven siblings and a cousin — were shot and killed in a domestic violence incident across three Shreveport locations early Sunday, authorities said, the deadliest US mass shooting in more than two years, according to the Gun Violence Archive. Two women, including the mother of some victims, were seriously wounded. Police identified the gunman as 31-year-old Shamar Elkins, who fled in a carjacked vehicle and was shot dead after exiting with a firearm. At the small gray house, bullet holes marked a white door as mourners left flowers. Investigators are still searching for a motive.
