Los Angeles. Los Angeles prosecutors charged 21-year-old musician David Burke, known as D4vd, with first-degree murder on Monday after authorities linked the death of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez to the singer. Prosecutors say Hernandez was last seen at Burke's Hollywood home in April 2025 and that her decomposed, dismembered remains were later found in a Tesla tied to him. Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan Hochman announced charges that include special circumstances such as lying in wait, committing a crime for financial gain and murdering a witness; prosecutors also charged Burke with lewd acts involving a minor and mutilation of human remains. Burke was arrested late Thursday in Hollywood and is scheduled for arraignment while prosecutors decide whether to seek enhanced penalties, including possible death‑penalty eligibility.
