TALLAHASSEE, Fla. Governor Ron DeSantis announced that Florida will address congressional redistricting during a forthcoming special session, initially referenced for April 20 and later scheduled for April 28 through May 1. This week DeSantis told reporters in Tallahassee the administration will present proposed maps and that lawmakers must consider new district plans soon. The session will also address proposed expansion of K–12 vaccine exemptions and AI consumer-protection measures, according to reports and a memo from Senate leadership. Senate President Ben Albritton said senators will wait for the governor’s map proposal; officials warned of potential litigation and referenced prior Florida Supreme Court decisions that could constrain legislative privilege.
