Annandale, Virginia. Former Virginia Lt. Gov. Justin Fairfax fatally shot his wife, Dr. Cerina W. Fairfax, in their Annandale home overnight Thursday and then shot himself, Fairfax County Police said. Officers found both adults dead shortly after midnight in the 8100 block of Guinevere Drive after a teenage child placed a 911 call; both were pronounced at the scene. Police Chief Kevin Davis said the couple were separated and involved in divorce proceedings, and investigators are reviewing home camera footage and recent court paperwork; authorities said the children present were not physically harmed. The investigation is preliminary, police said, and officers are collecting evidence while advising there is no ongoing threat to the broader community this week.
