Attorney General Jeff Jackson, joined by several others statewide, has filed suit against the presidential administration over President Donald Trump’s executive order they say endangers mail-in voting. The order directs the Department of Homeland Security to give states a list of eligible voters at least 60 days before elections and requires the United States Postal Service to accept ballots only from voters on a Mail in and Absentee Participation List. Jackson argues it violates the Constitution, reduces state control, and could leave deployed service members and displaced absentee voters who request late ballots without their votes counted.
