Police say 56-year-old Robert Dorgan opened fire at a Pawtucket ice rink Monday, killing at least two family members and wounding three others before taking his own life. At a late-night briefing, Chief Tina Goncalves said Dorgan also went by Roberta, and court records detail years of volatile family disputes tied to his gender identity. In 2020, Dorgan reported threats from his father-in-law after gender-reassignment surgery; charges were later dismissed. His divorce finalized in 2021. A separate case involving his mother was also dismissed.
