San Antonio — A judge on Saturday ordered the U.S. to release a 5-year-old boy and his father from a Texas detention center, where they had been held after being detained last month in a Minneapolis suburb. Images of Liam Conejo Ramos—wearing a bunny hat and a Spiderman backpack as U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers surrounded him—ignited fresh outrage over the Trump administration’s immigration crackdown in Minnesota. The images spurred a protest at the family detention center and drew two Texas Democratic members of Congress to visit.
