Trump says US decertifying Bombardier Global Express until Canada certifies Gulfstream

President Donald Trump said the U.S. was decertifying Bombardier Global Express business jets and warned of 50% tariffs on Canadian-made aircraft unless Canada certifies Gulfstream models 500, 600, 700 and 800. He accused Canada of blocking Gulfstream via its certification process. It remains unclear how he could decertify planes, a role handled by the FAA, or which other aircraft might be affected, including the Airbus A220. FlightRadar24 counted 400-plus Canadian-built planes flying to and from U.S. airports. Bombardier, Gulfstream and Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney’s office did not immediately comment.
