NEW YORK — More than 60 Minnesota-based business and sports leaders signed an open letter Sunday urging state, local and federal officials to deescalate tensions after two fatal shootings by federal agents during a large immigration enforcement operation that prompted statewide protests. Signatories included executives from Target, Best Buy, 3M, General Mills and UnitedHealth; teams such as the Vikings, Wild and Timberwolves; and community organizations. Plus faith leaders. The National Basketball Players Association also issued a statement supporting protesters’ rights. Leaders asked officials to work together to find practical solutions and calm unrest.
