A sprawling winter storm is sweeping from the Rockies to the Northeast and as far south as the Carolinas and Tennessee, bringing rain, heavy snow and ice. Southern Michigan sits on the system’s northern edge, with snow beginning late Saturday near the Ohio border, intensifying Sunday afternoon and easing Sunday night, the National Weather Service says. Southeast Michigan could see the most: Monroe and Wayne counties 5–6 inches, Ann Arbor and Detroit up to 6. Elsewhere, Metro Detroit may get 2–4 inches, Southwest Michigan up to 3 with some uncertainty, and areas north of M-46 less than an inch.
