WASHINGTON: President Donald Trump on Friday named a seven-member Board of Peace to oversee Gaza's temporary governance and reconstruction and will chair it. Announced Jan. 16 were the Secretary of State Marco Rubio, former UK prime minister Tony Blair, special envoy Steve Witkoff, son-in-law Jared Kushner, World Bank President Ajay Banga, Marc Rowan and adviser Robert Gabriel; Nickolay Mladenov was named high representative. The plan follows an October ceasefire and creates a Palestinian technocratic committee for daily administration with an international stabilization force.
