The Dutch government returned control of chipmaker Nexperia to Chinese parent Wingtech, seeking to ease tensions over electronics supply chains. Minister Vincent Karremans said the decision followed consultations with European and international partners and constructive meetings with Chinese authorities, describing it as a show of good will. The Netherlands had taken temporary control on Sept. 30 after a U.S. trade blacklist expansion. Uncertainty over Nexperia’s chips had stirred concern among automakers like Volkswagen and Mercedes-Benz; Nissan has already cut output at two plants. Talks with China will continue.
