Bear Bachmeier threw for 296 yards and a touchdown and ran for another score, powering No. 12 BYU past TCU 44-13 in Provo. The freshman piled up 239 passing yards before halftime and became the first Cougar since 1966 with seven games featuring both a passing and rushing TD in a season. BYU scored on its first seven drives, leaned on LJ Martin’s 88 rushing yards, and capitalized on two late interceptions, including Tanner Wall’s 68-yard return. TCU’s Josh Hoover threw two picks as BYU snapped a five-game skid in the series.
