Ford is trading its 1950s Glass House for a 2.1 million square foot headquarters in Dearborn, ceremonially opening Sunday with construction continuing into 2027. Nicknamed The Hub, the four story complex will consolidate up to 4,000 employees, split between design studios and business operations, with flexible "neighborhoods" and few private offices to drive collaboration under the Ford+ plan. Features include six hidden courtyards, light filled spaces, inviting stairways, and a 160,000 square foot dining area with eight kitchen concepts, rotating menus, and take home meals. The 12 story former HQ, about three miles away, is expected to be demolished.
