USS Gerald Ford to arrive Caribbean amid tensions | JQJO

The USS Gerald R. Ford, the world’s largest aircraft carrier, heads to the northern Caribbean on Sunday as tensions with Venezuela mount. A U.S. official told NPR the “table is being set” for possible action, with 15,000 service members in the region, including 2,000 Marines. The U.S. has carried out 20 strikes on boats it says were ferrying drugs and has posted a $50 million reward for the arrest of Nicolás Maduro. Trump said he has “sort of” decided on an attack. Operation Southern Spear unfolds after a four-star admiral overseeing the strikes resigned.
