New Jersey Gov.-elect Mikie Sherrill said voters chose her to “get their costs down” — fast — and promised Day 1 action. In an interview with Face the Nation with Margaret Brennan, the House Democrat and former Navy helicopter pilot said voters want a “sense of urgency” and pledged a state of emergency to freeze utility rates. Earlier, she told CNN there is “too much caution and mediocrity” in her party. Sherrill beat Republican Jack Ciattarelli by 13.6 points in a race centered on cost of living. The interview airs Sunday, Nov. 9.
