Cowboys defensive lineman Solomon Thomas honored teammate Marshawn Kneeland, who died by suicide Thursday, posting a tribute and reminding people “you’re not alone.” Thomas, whose sister died by suicide in 2018, described his darkest years and, with support, later co-founded The Defensive Line with his parents. Thomas, a 2023 Heisman Humanitarian Award honoree, and quarterback Dak Prescott, also a mental health advocate, offered messages of care after the loss. Their groups previously partnered with the AFSP, and Thomas’s mother said the teammates share an understanding born of grief, a “club that no one wants to be a part of.”
