Google Play and YouTube exit Movies Anywhere | JQJO

Movies Anywhere quietly announced that Google Play and YouTube no longer participate in its cross-platform library syncing, a move that appears linked to Disney’s feud with Google. The notice, dated October 31, coincides with Disney-owned networks like ABC and ESPN leaving YouTube TV amid a contract dispute and missing titles across Play, YouTube, and Google TV. Existing Google-linked libraries still show previously synced films, though new purchases no longer sync, and access remains via services like Amazon Prime Video and Apple TV. There’s no sign the split is temporary, raising concerns once individual consent periods expire.
