Fears grow for thousands trapped in Sudan's el-Fasher

Only a few thousand Sudanese have reached the Tawila displacement camp after the Rapid Support Forces seized el-Fasher, aid workers said, stoking fears for tens of thousands still trapped. The RSF’s takeover of Darfur has coincided with reports of killings, beatings and sexual assaults; WHO says at least 460 people were killed in the city’s hospital. The U.N. estimates 70,894 people fled since the fall, yet fewer than 6,000 made it to Tawila, many disoriented, dehydrated and including 170 unaccompanied children. Sudan’s envoy accused the RSF of war crimes, while the UAE urged ceasefire and avoided addressing support.
