Amazon Web Services suffered a widespread outage Monday, citing an operational issue that hit multiple services, with more than 70 of its own affected. By 2:01 a.m. PDT it was pursuing parallel recovery paths and soon saw significant signs of recovery; by 3:03 a.m., services reliant on US-EAST-1 had returned. Downdetector flagged problems at sites including Amazon, Disney+, Reddit, Snapchat and United Airlines. Issues were reported for British government sites and Lloyds Banking Group, while companies from Coinbase and Canva to Perplexity AI noted access problems.
