President Donald Trump made multiple false claims during a White House meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, reviving a debunked story about Russia’s 2022 invasion. He said Russia stalled by choosing mud over highways on the way to Kyiv. Military analysts, including Rob Lee, counter that Russian forces used roads and highways and were stopped by Ukrainian resistance, logistics, and limited routes from Belarus; tanks got stuck after road advances faltered. Trump also exaggerated that he has ended eight wars and suggested no president has ever ended a war—claims contradicted by records of presidents ending wars and brokering peace.
