Jake Haro, 32, pleaded guilty Thursday to murdering his 7-month-old son, Emmanuel, admitting to child assault causing death and filing a false police report; he wept as he entered the plea. Emmanuel's mother, Rebecca Haro, 41, pleaded not guilty to an amended complaint; her preliminary hearing is set for Nov. 3, the same day Jake's sentencing is scheduled. Officials have not said whether the baby's remains have been found. Emmanuel was reported missing Aug. 14 after a disputed account of an attack. The district attorney alleged prolonged abuse and condemned a 2018 probation ruling.
