Doctors Without Borders said Wednesday it will permanently close its Port-au-Prince emergency care center, citing ongoing violence and 'stray bullets' hitting the building near combat zones. The Turgeau site had temporarily shut in March after armed men fired on four MSF vehicles evacuating staff, causing minor injuries. The loss strains a capital where gangs control about 90% of the city and over 60% of health facilities are shut. From January to June, the U.N. counted more than 3,100 killed, 1,100 injured, and 1.4 million displaced, as makeshift shelters climbed from 142 to 238.
