Yemen’s Houthi movement said military chief of staff Mohammed al‑Ghamari has been killed, along with his teenage son, during what it called an “honourable battle against the Israeli enemy.” Israel’s defence minister said Ghamari died of wounds from an Israeli strike in Sanaa in late August that also killed the Houthi prime minister and other ministers. The Houthis hailed him as a martyr and vowed revenge, while Israeli leaders said they would keep pursuing Houthi figures. No Houthi attacks have been reported since Israel agreed a Gaza ceasefire last week; the group warned it remains ready to act.
