Chamber Sues Trump Over $100,000 H-1B Fee

Read, Watch or Listen

Citing the Immigration and Nationality Act, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce sued the Trump administration Thursday over a new $100,000 annual fee for H-1B visas, calling it unlawful and cost-prohibitive for employers. The Chamber argues the charge overrides the law’s cost-based fee rules and would price out startups and small and midsize firms that depend on global talent. Tech companies are expected to be hit hardest. The White House did not immediately comment. The administration has also proposed lottery changes amid a broader push to limit immigration.
