US military veterans are increasingly being arrested and injured during protests over Donald Trump’s deportation campaign and push to deploy the National Guard, with The Guardian counting eight cases of prosecutions or damages claims. In Broadview, Illinois, 70-year-old Air Force veteran Dana Briggs was charged after video showed a masked ICE agent knocking him down; Marine veteran John Cerrone was arrested the day before.
