Bannon Criticizes Qatar Access to Idaho Base | JQJO

Steve Bannon slammed Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth’s surprise plan to allow Qatar access to Idaho’s Mountain Home Air Force Base, calling any foreign base on U.S. soil unacceptable. After bipartisan blowback, Hegseth insisted Qatar would not “have their own base,” even as he and Qatar’s defense chief announced Qatari F-15s and pilots would train there to boost interoperability. Bannon also questioned President Donald Trump’s recent executive order extending Article 5-style protection to Qatar, suggesting both moves are tied to securing an Israel-Hamas peace deal.
