President Donald Trump will make a brief trip to Israel to preside over a fragile Gaza ceasefire that includes releasing all 20 living hostages and the remains of others. He is expected to address the Knesset and sign the deal in Sharm El Sheikh as European leaders look on. The visit contrasts with Joe Biden’s 2023 stop, after which Israel’s Gaza campaign — leaving more than 60,000 dead — eroded its global standing. Credit is disputed: Trump allies cite a new approach, while former Biden officials say he used their roadmap. Netanyahu was booed during a Tel Aviv gathering.
