Newsom Mocks Trump Over Jan. 6 Claims | JQJO

California Governor Gavin Newsom mocked Donald Trump after a late-night Truth Social post in which Trump invoked a "Biden FBI" role in Jan. 6. Newsom noted Trump himself was president that day. Trump repeated his claim that 274 FBI agents were placed in the crowd and demanded, "DO SOMETHING!!!" His assertions were undermined by FBI director Kash Patel, a Trump appointee, who said agents were deployed after the riot was declared. The exchange comes amid renewed scrutiny of the 79-year-old president's mental sharpness, including recent gaffes and AI-boosted posts about nonexistent cures.
