Battlefield 6 stormed onto Steam with a launch-day peak of 747,000 players, the highest ever for an EA game and above Call of Duty’s all-time Steam mark of 491,000. The surge also topped the 521,000 record for free open betas, with the weekend poised to push the number higher. The strong debut positions Battlefield 6 as a potent rival to this fall’s Black Ops 7, even as Monster Hunter Wilds holds 2025’s top concurrent count at 1.38 million. EA is set to go private in a $55 billion deal.
