White House Slams Schumer's Shutdown Comments | JQJO

The White House has criticized Senator Chuck Schumer for his comment that the ongoing government shutdown is 'better' for the Democrats. Republicans have accused Schumer of instigating the shutdown to please the progressive wing of the Democratic Party. The White House deputy press secretary, Abigail Jackson, stated that the shutdown is causing hardship for Americans, and called for the Democrats to reopen the government. Schumer responded by blaming Republicans for the shutdown, and argued that the Democrats are fighting for healthcare.
