Hikers on a lesser-known Everest trail in Tibet were caught in a severe snowstorm, forcing them to halt their treks and struggle to keep tents from collapsing. Several hikers experienced hypothermia, and some barely slept due to fear of being buried by snow. Rescue efforts involving locals and villagers were underway to assist stranded groups. The unusual intensity of the blizzard made the situation extremely challenging even for experienced hikers.
