Hunt Challenges Cornyn, Paxton in Texas Senate Race | JQJO

Republican Rep. Wesley Hunt has entered the Texas Senate race, challenging incumbent John Cornyn and Attorney General Ken Paxton. Hunt aims to offer a "viable alternative" to Texas Republicans, arguing that the incumbent and Paxton are divisive figures. Despite opposition from Senate GOP leadership who view his candidacy as a "vanity project," Hunt insists he can unite the party and secure a crucial Senate seat. His entry intensifies the already contentious primary, with significant advertising spending by Hunt and Cornyn campaigns.
