A valuable limestone pharaonic painting, depicting the ancient Egyptian calendar, has gone missing from the Saqqara necropolis near Cairo. The artwork, found in the tomb of Khentika dating back to the Old Kingdom (2700-2200 BC), was discovered absent by a British archaeological mission. Prosecutors are investigating the disappearance, which follows the recent theft and melting of a pharaoh's gold bracelet from the Egyptian Museum. The Saqqara site, part of a UNESCO World Heritage area, has a history of artifacts being targeted.
