PGA President Apologizes for Ryder Cup Crowd Comments | JQJO

PGA of America President Don Rea Jr. has apologized to golf professionals for his initial downplaying of fan behavior at the Ryder Cup. The event, won by Europe, was marred by profane and personal taunts directed at players and Rory McIlroy's wife. Rea's earlier comparison of the crowd noise to a youth soccer game drew heavy criticism. He now acknowledges the behavior crossed the line, was disrespectful, and not representative of the PGA of America, vowing to own the mistake.
