Cora's Bold Moves Backfire, Force Game 3 | JQJO

Red Sox manager Alex Cora's aggressive strategy in Game 2 of the Wild Card Series backfired, leading to a 4-3 loss against the Yankees. Despite strong tactical decisions throughout the season, Cora's decision to pull pitcher Brayan Bello early and reliance on his bullpen ultimately proved costly. A late-inning walk and a subsequent bloop single allowed the Yankees to tie the game, forcing a decisive Game 3. Both Cora and reliever Garrett Whitlock, usually reliable, faltered in crucial moments, setting up a winner-take-all matchup.
