Secretary's Address to Generals Sparks Outrage | JQJO

Newly appointed Secretary of War Pete Hegseth's address to flag officers has drawn sharp criticism. Veterans and retired generals decried the "insulting" and "egotistical" speech, which touched on warrior ethos, physical fitness, and DEI. Critics argued the hour-long talk was a waste of resources and politically charged, especially after Donald Trump's subsequent remarks about an "enemy within." The address also reignited debate on fitness standards for women in combat, with some finding Hegseth's stance disparaging and others seeing potential for fairness.
