Guanella Pass in Colorado experienced extreme congestion on Saturday, forcing authorities to turn away vehicles for over an hour to manage traffic and prevent gridlock in Georgetown. This measure, reportedly a first for the area, was a response to the overwhelming number of visitors seeking fall foliage. The Clear Creek County Sheriff's Office and the Colorado Department of Transportation had previously warned of heavy traffic, advising against visiting during peak hours.
