Poll: Americans Fear Crime, Reject National Guard Policing | JQJO

A recent NPR-Ipsos poll reveals that while Americans are concerned about crime, they do not broadly support President Trump's deployment of the National Guard to police U.S. cities. The survey highlights a significant partisan divide, with Republicans largely in favor and Democrats opposing the tactic. Independents also express discomfort with using troops for law enforcement. Despite public perception, crime rates are down from pandemic highs, yet the public believes they have increased. Trump, however, plans to expand the National Guard deployments.
