Trump Tightens Visa Rules, Threatening Talent Pipeline | JQJO

Donald Trump's administration is significantly tightening restrictions on international students and foreign workers, particularly through H-1B visas. While initially framed against illegal immigration, these policies now target legal pathways, threatening industries needing specialized skills. New proposals include favoring high-wage earners for H-1B visas and increasing application fees, creating uncertainty and deterring talent. This shift could hamstring key sectors like tech, healthcare, and research, impacting U.S. competitiveness and public well-being. Critics fear long-term, potentially irreversible damage to the nation's talent pipeline.
