The 78th UN General Assembly (UNGA) commenced on September 9th in New York. Over 150 heads of state will deliver speeches during the high-level debate from September 23rd-27th and September 29th. A notable dynamic involves Brazilian President Lula da Silva speaking before US President Donald Trump, amidst strained relations. Palestine's participation is a key focus, with several nations recently recognizing its statehood, though full UN membership remains blocked by the US. The UNGA, held at UN headquarters, addresses global issues including climate change and food crises.
