Eli Lilly announced a $6.5 billion investment in a new Houston manufacturing facility to boost production of its drug pipeline, including its experimental obesity pill, orforglipron. This is the second of four planned US facilities totaling over $50 billion in investment since 2020. The new plant will create 615 permanent and 4,000 construction jobs and aims to address supply constraints and meet anticipated high demand for orforglipron.
