Machu Picchu's Wonder Status Threatened | JQJO

Machu Picchu's status as a New7Wonder of the World is threatened due to overtourism, conservation concerns, and social conflicts, according to the New7Wonders organization. They cite insufficient management and repeated visitor complaints. While Peru's Ministry of Culture insists Machu Picchu's preservation is not compromised and UNESCO recognizes improvements, recent protests and transportation disruptions highlight ongoing challenges. The New7Wonders organization is calling on Peruvian authorities to implement a strategic transformation plan to address these issues.
